Marvel's Spider-Man is an action-adventure Match published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man and developed by Insomniac Games.
Released worldwide on September 7, 2018, it is the first game manufactured by Insomniac. The game covers the Peter Parker and Spider-Man aspects of the personality, and tells a story about Spider-Man which is not tied to an present comic book, video game, or film.
Spider-Man was well received upon launch. Critics called it one of the greatest superhero games created, praising especially the combat, its gameplay and web-swinging mechanics, images, storyline, characterization, and style of new york, though believed it lacked innovation in its open-world design. The match turned into a commercial success, selling 3.3 million copies in its first three days of launch, and broke several sales documents.
Spider-Man features a large ensemble cast of characters in the history of comics. Peter Parker (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) is a 23-year old research assistant, who profits superhuman abilities after being bitten by a genetically-modified spider. Parker uses these skills to protect the taxpayers of New York City as the superhero Spider-Man. Eight years in his superhero career, Parker has become an masterful and skilled crime fighter, but struggles to balance his superhero and individual lives. He's assisted in his fight by intrepid Daily Bugle reporter Mary Jane Watson (Laura Bailey), his ex-girlfriend, and NYPD Captain Yuri Watanabe (Tara Platt). In his civilian life, Parker is encouraged by his Aunt May (Nancy Linari) who volunteers in the F.E.A.S.T. homeless shelter run by philanthropist Martin Li (Stephen Oyoung). Parker is employed by his mentor and friend, the honored scientist Dr. Otto Octavius (William Salyers). Spider-Man's adventure brings him into contact with other personalities, such as Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) along with his parents, NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis (Russell Richardson) and Rio Morales (Jacqueline Pinol), OsCorp CEO along with New York mayor Norman Osborn (Mark Rolston), along with Silver Sablinova (Nichole Elise), leader of the private military firm Sable International.
Spider-Man's mission to protect Cheap EXP farming the city brings him into conflict with supervillains. Fisk is sent to prison, but warns that he was the sole person. Fisk's lack gives rise to some supernaturally powered, demonic-mask wearing gang called the Demons who begin dividing town for the strong Mr. Negative, who will corrupt individuals through his signature.
A lot of other characters--including Parker's and Watson's childhood friend Harry Osborn (Scott Porter), who has disappeared on a long European holiday, and anti-Spider-Man podcast host J. Jonah Jameson (Darin p Paul) have voice roles in the main game. The game features several references including the Wakandan Embassy, Avengers Tower, the Sanctum Sanctorum, Murdock & Nelson Attorneys at Law, Rand Corporation, and Alias Investigations.  Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee cameos as a cook. The match's downloadable material features appearances by master-thief Black Cat (Erica Lindbeck) (who has a voice-only role in the primary game), and Hammerhead (Keith Silverstein), chief of the Maggia crime family.
